The 32nd Governor of Western Australia, Kerry Sanderson AO, visited Central on last week to tour the facilities, and meet Central staff and students.
Her Excellency has been Governor of WA since October 2014 and is the first woman to hold the position. She was previously a businesswoman and senior public servant.
The Governor met with Managing Director Neil Fernandes and Executive Director Peter Ebell to discuss Central, its courses and facilities.
Her Excellency began her tour at the GreenSkills Centre in East Perth, where she learnt about the unique, and award-winning sustainability elements of the building and how the whole facility can be used as a teaching tool.
She then visited the new hospitality-training centre, ‘Chalk and Cheese’ in Northbridge, to enjoy a coffee and morning tea.
While there, the Governor mingled with students and lecturers and discussed the new hospitality course and training centre, and how the latter operates as a trading café and teaching tool simultaneously.
