The talented Matt Cal provided the vibes at our recent Open Arvo.
Deciding the right type of study can be an intimidating prospect, which is why Central created Open Arvo, to illustrate all that Central has to offer. Future students can discover not only which course is right for them but also what studying at Central will be like.
Running from 3 – 6.30pm on Wednesday 2 September, this year’s Open Arvo gave future students the opportunity to explore the Northbridge campus, speak to lecturers and students and get hands on at an array of interactive stands..
Free coffee, free massages, a 3D printer, an electric car, beer goggles and free health assessments were just some of the things on offer and the sheer range of activities and information kept even the most hard to please informed and entertained.
No matter what you’re interested in, Central has something to spark your curiosity, whether it’s art, media, science, business, design or anything in between.
This year’s event was no exception with every study area pulling out all the stops.
As always, one of the most popular activities was the free five-minute massage from the Remedial Massage students. A free massage is something rarely turned down and our massage students were kept very busy with people wanting to sample their skills.
The best way to get a feel for the campus and its facilities was to take one of various campus tours. The tours demonstrated what to expect from various portfolios if you choose to study at Central. There was the CUT Mine tour, Central Vibe Fitness Centre tour, Fashion Department tour and all manner of work lining the route of the Art and Design tour.
Apart from the displays and activities, the afternoon featured music from singer/song writer Mat Cal, and alt country troubadour Ruby Boots.
If you’re looking to study and missed out on the Open Arvo, or attended and want to know more about what Central has to offer, please see our range of courses at the Central website.
